Nailbiter Issue 4 Summary
Issue 4 of Nailbiter opens on a group of town folk having a discussion. They talk about how the fact that everyone is related to a serial killer has affected their lives. Raleigh, the owner of The Murder Store, chimes and says that they are not allowed to talk about how to make everything better.
We then see Finch attempting to dig up The Book Burner. Crane tells Finch about how Raleigh is always trying to capitalize on the town’s murderous past. Everything is going well until a bullet strikes Finch’s shovel.
Crane covers Finch as he checks the woods for the shooter. All he found was a gun propped up against a tree. Just kidding! The hooded attacker from the morgue jumps out and tries to attack Finch. Seeing as Finch is tough as nails, he is able to lay a beating on the attacker.
Before we find out who the attacker is, the story pans over to Alice. She is currently sneaking into the police station to see Warren. She sais she will give Warren her nails in exchange for information. What could Alice possibly want with The Nailbiter?
The masked figure is Robby, the other jock kid who was harassing Alice with Hank in issue one! He admits that he burned down the hotel with Hank. Robby tells Crane that they did the arson in an attempt to “break the curse” from Buckaroo.
Robby refuses to tell Crane and Finch who is other accomplices are. Before they can take him in, Robby takes his own life.
The issue ends with Finch falling through the grave site into a prison below the cemetary. In the prison, Finch finds his friend Carroll alive. Sadly, Carroll is missing his arms and legs!
Who did this to Carroll? I guess we will find out next time.
Nailbiter Issue 4 Review
To be honest, I didn’t think this issue was as fun as the first three. However, I understand why the story needs to go the way it does. This issue does set up a lot of plot points that I am sure will be a lot of fun later.
That ending, though! Holy crap, I can’t believe Carroll has been getting amputated underneath the graveyard this whole time. I was not expecting that one bit. I can’t wait to see what Carroll has to say about all of this.
I am also curious about what Alice wants with Warren. This seemed like a sort of meet-cute scenario. That said, Alice is much younger than Warren. Who knows what will happen? Buckaroo is a strange place. I think Crane and Warren have some unresolved tension as well.
What Do You Think?
This series just keeps getting better and better! Let’s keep reading.
